Open farmland weather across Lebanon
Lebanon's open fields let wind cross roofs unbroken and bring summer gusts and hail across the farms, lifting tabs on field-facing slopes and driving rain under flashing. Winters in eastern Connecticut are long, with heavy snow that builds ice at the eaves of old farmhouses whose attics were never insulated and warm subdivision houses alike. Wooded lots between the fields trade wind for shade and debris in every valley, and the brook valleys hold fog and damp. Spring freeze and thaw works at old chimney flashing.
